Our last leg of the trip had us in Helsinki with 5 days before we had to go back home. Than plan is to leave on an overnight ferry from Helsinki to SPB. We found a loophole in the Russian Visa laws where you did not need a Visa to visit if you arrived on a ferry or cruise and took part in a tour. So we paid €20 each for a “tour” that involves being bussed away from the ferry docks. This may or may not be worth it but we shall see!
We will be in SPB for two days before heading back on the overnight ferry to Helsinki. From there, trying to avoid the high prices in Helsinki, we’re going to take another night ferry to Tallinn in Estonia and explore there before heading back to Helsinki. We’ll finally spend a night in Helsinki before leaving back home the next day to end our whirlwind tour of 8 countries (Iceland, Norway, Czech Republic, Poland, Latvia, Finland, Estonia, Russia) in 15 days.
