My radio alarm clock goes off around the time when the radio station runs a way-back-playback session. They play two songs from the 70s-80s-90s suggested by listeners, and the lucky listener gets a prize. The prize is usually a pair of tickets to some concert.
Getting lucky and winning something for free is always great, but I question the wisdom of concert tickets. Many of the winners submit songs that they enjoyed while growing up so presumably they like listening to music from the 70s or 80s. However, they end up winning tickets to P!nk or Hedley which are more popular with the younger crowd. Would they even go to those concerts? Part of me thinks that they might because they do listen to a station that plays songs from those artists, but I’d tend to think that they would feel out of place and may be pass on the tickets (perhaps to their children?)
