I have 4 pairs of glasses that I wear on a regular basis, 5 if I include my sunglasses. There are the two black pairs that you have probably seen me wearing on a regular basis, plus a plastic pair I bought claimed recently and a really old pair that I use at home. You know, the ones with golden/brown frames and a large enough viewing area that you actually have peripheral vision.
I’ve been “collecting” glasses since I was a kid, thanks to insurance plans and not being too accident-prone. I actually have two more pairs that I could use on a regular basis, but I’m not too happy with them anymore. I have a silver titanium frame, which sounded cool, but I guess I was an early adopter and they weren’t constructed rigid enough. I had another pair of with what I can only describe as gel/plastic support arms. It wasn’t as flimsy as it sounds, because the gel could only be molded under extreme heat. Anyways, the ear padding started breaking up so I don’t use that anymore either. My luck with glasses follow a pattern: gold/brown (alive), titanium (dead), circular-black (alive), gel/plastic (dead), squarey-black (alive); so unfortunately it seems as though my most recent pair will have a short life.
Anyways, since I use multiple pairs of glasses regularly, I have random pairs and associated cases lying around my desk at home. I think the way to handle this disaster is to get some sort of rack, maybe a mesh, that I can hang on my wall. You know, like the ones that street vendors use to display sunglasses. Time to visit Dollarama.
