Do people like, still blog?

While the end of summer isn’t until September 20th, doesn’t it feel a lot like it’s finished already? The last few days (and continuing today) of overcast skies sure doesn’t help the impression that the sunny skies of summer have been blown away.

Normally, the start of September signifies a change, either I’m off to school, or I’m off to work. This year though, nothing’s changing and I’m still in the not really work but not really school mode. Actually, the last year has been a mess since I’ve been in the {not really work but not really school} mode all the time. But at least I have a transition period between the move-every-four-months Waterloo syndrome and the working life.

What I remember of this summer, was that it was not really there. In May, I was finishing up things I needed to do at Waterloo (i.e. mark work reports), preparing to start at IBM, and packing for China. June disappeared because I was in China, then suddenly France. In July, I had to catch up on the work I should’ve done in June but didn’t until July. Finally, August simply disappeared too. I’m not sure where it went, but over two weeks, the whole month went by.

My university friends also met up more frequently in the summer. Maybe it was the sun, or the new photoblog project, or trying to get our Lone Ranger friends some friends, or the freebies at Blue Jay games, or the fact that we had hardly met up (or I had hardly attended) since last summer. Who knows, but it was fun. Here’s to more Mafia in the fall.
