I’ve heard on repeatedly on CBC that our country’s goal for these olympics is to win ~25 medals and/or end up 3rd in the medal standings. We’re not that far off right now, being tied with 3 medals for 4th with Netherlands, South Korea, Italy, Finland and China; but I have serious doubt that we will reach either of our goals.
However, I thought about it a bit more and figured out how we could reach the 25 medals plateau. I think what they mean is that we will count each individual medal; for example there are 20 people on the woman’s hockey team, so that would be 80% of the goal right there!
