it seems like this is a hockey blog of late, but i promise to blog more about waterloo or other garbage related to me soon.

first, the good news. looking at the tsn’s expert picks for the first round, the agree with me on 5 of the 8 series (Tampa 9/10, Boston 7/10, Toronto 7/10, Detroit 10/10!, San Jose 9/10). i guess those were the easy picks. anyways of the three other series, eight of the ten experts picked dallas over colorado! i guess they liked turco’s goaltending over colorado’s injuries.

i thought colorado was going to pull out a 3-1 win last night and go up 3-0 but dallas won it in overtime 4-3 so there’s still hope for them. the expert also picked vancouver 6/10 and new jersey 6/10. we’ll see who’s right on those ones later. on the chances for the leafs, it’s nice that they’re up 2-1 and belfour has had shutouts, but i wouldn’t count the senators out of it yet.

one of my predictions has already been proven wrong as nashville beat detroit, so it’ll take detroit at least 5 games to oust the predators. come to think of it, trying to guess how many games it’ll take to close out the series is kind of a shot in the dark, you basically have a (0.5 x 0.25 =) 0.125 chance of getting it right. maybe i won’t do that anymore.
