hrmm, i’m not sure what stuff to post to my music blog and what stuff to blog here. my blog is more personal so it makes more sense to talk about music that i like here, but on the other hand it’s about music so i should probably put it on the music blog.
anyways, i’m liking the new hillary duff single come clean. it’s the first song in awhile (maybe the last for awhile too) that’s an “old school” pop song. the new songs by justin timberlake, janet, or britney, while good are all evolving with a more r&b style, electric guitars, or banghra beatz. that’s where the new sound is at; not that it’s a bad thing, but i haven’t gotten entirely tired of the bubblegum pop style from before.
i’ve been bringing some of my neglected cds with me to school so i can put them through a couple of spins on my cd player and see if there are any hidden gems that i missed the first time around. didn’t find a lot, but it gives my collection more worth in my mind (instead of closet-fillers). anyways, i was listening to bran van 3000’s last cd discosis and it has two great singles, astounded and love cliche which are head & shoulders above all the rest of the tracks. kinda like speakerboxxx/the love below unless they release another good single.
