when i started blogging, it was all about the links; i would post anything on the web that i wanted to share or comment on, but if you’ve been keeping up recently you may have noticed that i haven’t been posting links anymore.
i guess it’s because i’ve remodelled my blog so that it’s more like everyone else’s; i just talk about me and stuff that happens to me without a lot of content that’s actually meaningful. i always thought that that wasn’t all that useful since it’s really only interesting to 5 people in the whole world, and i still think that way. what it has going for it is that it’s easy to do, you don’t really have to think of what you want to write about or what you want to say about it. although i’d rather read blogs on a specific topic because there’s actually a reason (such as common interest) to follow it which is what i was trying to do with my music blog but unfortunately i don’t have a lot of time to work on it.
another reason for the lack of links is that for the last year or so, i’ve been bookmarking interesting and potentially useful sites both to blog about and use at a later date. recently, my bookmarks have grown beyond a manageable size so in order to save me the organizational headache, i’ve been surfing less and being more picky on what to bookmark. so less bookmarks means less linking from my blog.
