two things i’ve noticed recently while taking the transit in toronto; the first is that getting off the transit is somewhat like an arms race. when we approach a popular stop, all the people sitting down try and stay sitting down for as long as they can, but once a person sitting farther than you from the door stands up, you’re forced to stand up and prevent them from getting ahead of you in the queue.

in the streetcar tunnels at spadina, there is a black stuff lizard that ttc employees place on various containers jutting out of the wall (ie fire hoses, electrical boxes). the first time i saw, i thought it was alive, which i guess is the inside joke that i’ve let you on to.
