haven’t blogged in a long time so here’s a recap of what i’ve done recently: went to the 10th annual krinos taste of the danforth yesterday, i’m disappointed that i didn’t hear one single Opa the whole day, but maybe they only say that when you get that dish. it’s not really that much fun going anymore, it’s just a lot of people trying to walk around badly placed attractions acting as choke points. then you also have to pay a lot for a sample of food, and the selection is the same as what you can get in restaurants around town. it’s a pretty good idea for the neighborhood tho, they get a street festival and sidewalk sale all at once, but for everyone else it’s not that great after the first time. tried to goto the nike friends & family day on friday, it was the last day so that was probably why there was a 1-1:30 hour lineup to just get into the store. i got tired of waiting and didn’t really have anything to get, so i never made it in. i eavesdropped on a couple of conversations while i was waiting in line and it seemed that everyone found out about it on the net. actually, think i was the last person to hear about it, i didn’t even really hear about it, my friend told me. i guess i need to spend more time on the net or something! also went to a cd single sale at hmv. i’m a sucker for singles, except hmv usually sells them for like $10. they were $2-3 now so that’s pretty good! i wouldn’t even have known about it if i wasn’t near hmv tho. this got me thinking that someone (ie not me) should create a blog for toronto about this sort of stuff, kind of like a word-on-the-street blog where people can find out about sales, stuff like the aforementioned nike sale, etc. that would be really cool, of course it would also take a lot of work to run. lxg wasn’t as bad as everyone said, the set designs were unique, the concept was cool, while the plot and dialogue were cliched and corny. it’s an action movie for goodness sakes! of course the plot and dialogue were gonna suck. some of the characters were pretty underused and seemed to only be along for the ride, but other than that, they were clearly derived from the alan moore’s graphic novel. through the movie there were certain events that seemed to rule out any sequals, but the writers did some dumb stuff at the denoument to facilitate a sequel. of course there won’t be one based on the box office receipts. whew that was a lot, i find that when people write a chunk of text i just get distracted and skim through it, i hope you guys don’t have the same problem! newayz, i have to start working on my site soon, everything aside from my blog has remained unchanged for a couple of months. hopefully i’ll find some photo-ops and take more pictures to add or have some brilliant ideas.
