oops, geek minds do think alike, the psp will have onboard wireless. that’ll be really cool if you can just scan for people around you to play against, of course you’d have to have the same game but with more popular games like pokemon i guess that won’t be that much of a problem. i think the best thing about high-speed internet access is not that it’s high-speed, it’s because of the always-on factor. you don’t have to dial-up if you just want to check your email, check movie times etc. so that’s why i was always curious why bell & rogers would only offer one tier speedwise, i wouldn’t mind paying less to have a slower connection if it meant being on the net 24/7. they would be able to attract more customers who wouldn’t saturate their bandwidth. we’ve already established that geek minds think alike, but apparently geek and marketing minds also think alike if albeit a little slower. roger’s introduced high-speed lite, which operates at a whooping 2x the speed of dial-up and costs $30 ($5 more if you’re not a rogers cable customer). this sucks! i’m willing to pay more for always-on but i also expect measurable speed increase. since it’s cable i know the throughput won’t always be at its max, so in effect i don’t get any speed increase. that’s not worth an additional $15ish. i have a feeling that i’m going to be blogging a lot more the next week or so. it’s because i have this stupid exam schedule, back in the lower years they would schedule your exams every second day from the beginning of the exam period so bang bang bang you’d be done in a week and a bit. now that i’m in upper year, i guess they have scheduling difficulties as they have to fit our exams around those lower years, so i get 2 exams in 8 days and then 3 exams in 2 days. of course just to screw me over some more, i’ll have to wait another 4 days for my last one. nice. newayz, the whole point is that i’m in my 8 day stretch so there’s not a lot happening…
