so right now the hottest production team are the neptunes, they’ve done remixes of p. diddy, busta rhymes, llcoolj, etc, basically anyone who wants to get back on their feet again after starting to suck. one half of the neptunes is pharrell williams. he’s started to get his face known by appearing in lots of videos and now he’s starting to do some songs with well known singers (ie britney’s boys and beyonce’s new single). so pharrell knows pretty much what goes on behind the scenes and the scene itself.

newayz the point of that was to put this quote from blender by pharrell regarding britney in context, he says of her: “You see a cheerleader, but I see a girl who feels the streets. She’s growing into someone so musically powerful, she’s sick, her music is fucking retarded.”

now i have no idea what he is trying to say. the whole line seems to say that britney has real talent/will go places etc but then he says that her music is “fucking retarded“. i can see that he’s trying to supercede a normal exclamation by adding shock value or some reverse psychology thingie (i have no idea what a term for what i’m trying to describe is) but it makes it sound more like britney has talent yet she’s writing music for 4yr olds. i mean fine, if you want to make new words/meanings that’s ok…but at least you should make it intuitive. “fucking retarded” is just too ambigious. i think pharrell is fucking retarded.

also, they’ve figured out why all chinese people wear glasses. that means no more chopsticks everyday!
