i came across a bunch of weird stuff on the net today which could impact the world in the future…first a company in scotland is making a thingie for cell phones which can emit odors on demand, that is you could set your “ring tone” to a smell or you could send an odor to someone else’s phone. think of how annoying it would be to goto theatres in the future, you’d have to pay an exorbitant amount for the tix & confection, listen to chatty teens, sit thru previews, listen to cell phones going off, walk on sticky floors, and smell someone’s idea of a joke (on another note that’s one of the reasons why rick mccallum the producer for star trek thinks that the movie industry is going to implode soon).
second, a japanese firm (who else) have invented a device that “photocopies” a human body (french link thru babelfish). By photocopy it means “restore completely and very in detail the image of a human body“. i think this could revolutionize the whole poster/pin up thing, instead of glossy pictures of your favorite star, you could have a life-size, life-like 2d replica! you wouldn’t have to steal those cardboard cutouts from sunrise or whatever anymore either!
also spent some time trying to make another mix cd, it’s pretty hard because i get tired of songs quickly and i have a tendency to overplay a cd once they’re in my cd player (i’m lazy! i don’t want to go thru all the effort to change cds). i’m trying something new this time, instead of just picking the songs which i like at the moment (i’ve tried this before, and all i do is end up with useless cds in a month), i went thru my playlist and chose songs that 1) i like and 2) i’ve listened to for awhile. hopefully i won’t get any of those songs which sound good when you first listen to them but then die quickly.
