This year’s NHL trade deadline occurred yesterday at 3PM and it was a snooze fest. There were no exciting trades, and not a lot of F5F5F5F5 action happening. It was expected as much though, because a lot of teams are still in contention and because most of the major trades happened in the weeks coming up to the deadline (and the Maple Leafs were to fault for a lot of them). It must be a tragedy for TSN and the other sports networks because they spend a lot of time and money hyping up the day.
The Leafs did make some significant changes, and although they were not as exciting as the ones last year, they should make the team more competitive in the coming years. Hopefully the Leafs will continue their very strong play of late and challenge for the last playoff spot, that would actually be exciting!
