It’s an interesting question. There are already many devices which I can read books on. I can read on my phone, or maybe I’ll get an iPad/tablet in the future and read on that, or maybe I’ll just read real books! Will the Amazon Kindleever fill a need for me?

There are benefits for having one over other devices; the high contrast E-ink screen, the battery life (2-4 weeks), it’s getting cheaper (< $200). It's almost a better choice than a tablet for travelling purposes. But having full internet (or at least browsing) capability is just to strong of a selling point for a tablet. The one thing that might convince me to get a Kindle is if I can have multi-format magazine subscriptions. If I can get magazines automatically onto my Kindle instead of having the paper copies, I would be all for it; especially if there was some capability to archive issues and bookmark articles. Plus, I'd want to be able to get the normal subscription discounts that Amazon gives for magazines! .
