Last year I traveled a lot: London, France, Calgary, China, “Waterloo”. Same with 2005 (Seattle, San Francisco) and 2004 (more West Coast stuff, Vegas). This year, I expected it to be a little more stable since I started working and have a limited amount of vacation time (although more money yay). Well you can’t trap the wanderlust for too long so this long weekend I’m headed off to NYC.
I’ve been to the Big Apple before when I was a kid, along with several of the other major east coast cities on one of those duckling tours. So I’ve seen the major attractions (although they are a fleeting memory) and probably won’t need to visit them again (looking at you Ms Liberty). But there’s so much stuff I haven’t seen so it’ll be fun, interesting and hectic.
Originally we had thought of flying down, but decided on driving down. Our numbers kept fluctuating; for awhile we were down to 7 so we could’ve fit into a single van; but now we’re back to 8, which means two cars but perfect for 2 hotel rooms. We had a bit of trouble booking hotels because we couldn’t decide on whether to live cheap, convenient but dirty in Midtown, or a little further and a little cleaner.
Anyways, enough for now. I will of course bore my 12 to 15 feed subscribers with a weeks worth of blogs about the trip in excrutiating detail when I get back.
