You know when you’re waiting for your computer to do something, and the program shows you a progress bar to tell you how much it’s accomplished; sometimes you encounter a progress bar that’s stuck at some low percentage (say 20%) for a long time, and then suddenly it jumps to 100%. That’s pretty annoying, because you don’t really have an accurate representation of your progress.

That’s, for more often that I would like, how I feel about work. I feel like I’m generally making progress, but there is still an expanse of unknown ahead of me in order to finish my task. But all of a sudden, I’m done my work. Maybe it’s because I’m new and don’t have a good understanding of what exactly needs to be done yet; although, I suppose it’s better than the opposite scenario, where the progress bar is stuck at 98% but never reaching completion.
