My annual hockey playoff predictions
Buffalo vs Toronto Islanders: DiPietro is injured, NYI barely squeaked into the playoffs and are playing the #1 ranked team in the NHL. I think Buffalo’s got this.
NJ vs Tampa: NJ just fired their coach, but they have Brodeur. I don’t think having two of the top 5 point getters this season will be enough to push Tampa over NJ.
Atlanta vs Rangers: This is Atlanta’s first playoff appearance, but they do have some veterans to count on. Same goes for the Rangers if not more, however I think Atlanta will beat them.
Ottawa vs Pittsburgh: Generally I would pick against Ottawa, but I think Pittsburgh is not experienced enough yet to get far into the playoffs, so Ottawa should make it to the second round.
Detroit vs Calgary: This one will be a tough series. If Kiprusoff is on his game & amazing, I think that Calgary will have a good chance to knock Detroit off, but I think Detroit will prevail.
Anaheim vs Minnesota: Anaheim has the experience and depth to win, again unless the Wild goaltender is super stellar.
Vancouver vs Dallas: Vancouver is riding Luongo, and it doesn’t seem like it will stop in the first round.
Nashville vs San Jose: This one is tough, both teams have a lot of firepower. I’d have to go with San Jose on this one though.
Wow, I picked 7 of the 8 favorites.
