Some of my earliest blogs were about getting my first digital camera and I like to think that I’ve progressed a lot since then. At first, I had the wow, I have a digicam so I’ll take it around with me but I’m too shy to actually use it syndrome. It took a lot of time but eventually I got over it; which is good because why would you have a camera if you weren’t going to use it?

Around that time, I got my second camera and moved on to the document my life phase. I guess it helped that I had a camera with me all the time didn’t it? I started taking pictures of everything, but not everyone as I still have hesitations about taking out my camera and snapping pics of people. This went on for awhile which I think was fueled by the fact that I was off in (relatively) distant places which I don’t normally visit.

So with a few gigs of photos under my belt, I moved on to my third camera and used that for awhile. Then it finally hit me; I should probably learn how this photography thing works shouldn’t I? Unfortunately, i just spent a lot of money on a new camera and I can’t afford a dSLR that any serious photography beginner needs. I’m tempted then to get a cheap film SLR and play around with learn how to use it, and maybe start collecting lenses. i think it’s a good idea, yep that’s my next step.
