Somehow, I missed the start of the 10th season of Stargate SG-1. I heard (confirmed) rumors in the summer that this would be their last season, but figured that they would be like normal shows and start in the fall. Not so apparently, as I’ve already missed the first half of the season on Sci Fi. Good thing Space in Canada is slow and just starting up the season (and also for BT).

I’ve been watching reruns and the recent seasons of this show for the last year or two. I’ve always been interested in it and lately it seems to be an amalgamation of every science fiction show device. They have space ships, aliens, mythology, you name it. The 9th and 10th seasons however are much more funnier than the first 8 (not to say the first 8 weren’t funny). The writers now also include a lot of irrelevancy that makes the show amazing — also the reason why I enjoy Star Trek: TNG so much.

In fact, having seen the first two episodes from the new season of both Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica, I think Stargate is more enjoyable to watch.
