One blockbuster that is rather low on my movies to watch this summer is Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest. The first Pirates was an alright movie which I enjoyed watching on DVD (that I bought from a Chinese mall), and so I didn’t have high hopes for the sequel.
So, at Pauline’s request, and she really wanted to see it, we went and saw it. I didn’t like it very much, and thought it dragged on with some useless scenes (although my mind seemed to have blanked them out now). It was too cliche, with Turner’s Dad and the old Captain (I called that one). It seems like some of the action scenes were made just so that could build rides out of them (ironic I know). Anyways, I would give this a 2 out of 5, maybe a 2.5.
