On one of the proliferation of Answer sites out there, I was reading a question about why Tim Horton’s doesn’t accept debit or credit cards. Apparently this is true in Toronto and not the case in the US or areas outside of Toronto (although one would need to do some research to see whether I made that up or not). The most common reason is that using anything other than cash would slow down the already long lines during rush hour and coffee breaks.
I thought that to solve this problem, they should use something like the Esso Speedpass or more suitably Dexit; load it up with $20 and they will do for a week or two. Perhaps the dongle could also remember your preferences as well to save even more time.
