I don’t have a good way of organizing my To-Do items. Recently, I have been using my calendar program to track my To-Do lists because I can 1) set a deadline and it’ll remind me when the due date is coming up, and 2) I can sync it up with my PDA or iPod. However, it’s not really that great of a system because 1) the UI sucks, and 2) it takes too long to type in things. The latter point is the big headache for me because I don’t want to spend a lot of time maintaining what I need to do; if I think of something, I want to be able to just jot it down.
So I have gone back to my previous system which is to use a flat text file for everything. This system works because I can 1) quickly sort and move things around and 2) quickly write a couple of words. Come to think of it, I’m not actually sure why I decided to switch to my calendar program, maybe just to try it out. I guess I found out that that was a bad idea. The only things missing from this system is 1) the ability to automatically organize by date and 2) automatically sync with the To-Do list on my PDA and my iPod. I guess those features are not really as important.
