The Forgotten is about a mom whose son does in an airplane crash, and seems to be the only person who can remember him. Everyone else who knew her son seems to have forgotten (weak pun intended) him kind of like the men in black device except for selective memory. It’s a interesting plot device but the way they go about to explain and resolve it is exceedingly weak. One of the quotes about the movie is that is that this is “the biggest jaw-dropper since the Sixth Sense” and I guess in some ways its true if it’s talking about how stupid the ending is. I can willingly suspend my disbelief, but only if it’s reasonable. Better miss this one, I’d give it 2/5.
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle was supposed to be a funny comedy with lots of racial humor that Asian people can relate to. Now I’m asian, and I can see the stereotypes in the movie, but I didn’t really find it that funny. Without being funny, a comedy is kind of dead in the water so that’s why I’d also rate this as a 2/5. Probably a better bet to rent this than The Forgotten if given the choice (and you’re Asian) however.
