so here’s something interesting i came across. all this time, i thought that the system access fee on my wireless bill was to license your particular frequency for your phone from the government. that’s apparently not true according to rogers’ explanation. it seems as tho they can charge whatever they want, but most importantly they don’t even need to charge it. it’s almost like collusion since all the wireless carriers charge their customers the same amount and makes it look like a tax on wireless services. newayz i also read that rogers buys its c333‘s in bulk for $170 so that means that the profit margin for cell phones isn’t as tight as i thought it was (ie if you were on a $25/mth 2yr contract you pay : (25+7)*24 = $768).
