i went to explore downtown seattle today, hit a bunch of the main tourist sites you’re supposed to visit in seattle like pioneer square, the main library, pike place market, “international” district (actually japanese town although they advertise chinatown), space needle and capitol hill. the highlight i would say was the pretty new seattle library designed by kool haas.

the library is not really a library; it’s more of a tourist attraction+design clinic and it really is something you must check out if you were to visit seattle. capitol hill is basically like queen street west complete with vintage clothing, used cd stores and coffee shops. pike place market is like st lawrence market, but it is also the home of the very first starbucks. in front of it, there was a black barbershop quartet except they looked ghetto (and no hats). at the space needle there’s also a science fiction museum and experience music project which is basically like a music museum from 60s onward.

anyways, it was a hectic day full of walking (uphill most of the time) which is pretty difficult to fit into a blog, but i did see a lot of downtown seattle which is cool. also i’m hopefully going to see keane in concert on tuesday and am hyped for that.
