i don’t want the leafs to win the stanley cup this year (although they are having their best season in awhile) mostly because of the fact that i won’t be in toronto to celebrate it. then i got to thinking how this really might be the last season of hockey for the next few years, maybe even the nhl; due to the collective bargaining agreement problems. so it would be fitting that they end it with a bang for all of us stanley cup starved torontonians.

also, isn’t it funny that grown up men on both sides are just like us and procrastinate for as long as they can? some places such as the globe and mail are saying that the nhl and the nhlpa won’t enter into serious discussions until after the cup final in july while their current agreement ends september 15. they knew the issue of collective bargaining would be difficult to come to a comprimise to so shouldn’t they have started talking seriously a couple of years ago? or is it because they are so deadlocked that it wouldn’t have made any use.
