last week i went to one of those indie music stores downtown to hear my morning jacket play. never heard of them? well neither had i! it was kind of odd to see someone perform without knowing any of their music, and maybe it was their style but after awhile every song started to sound the same. it’s probably just me tho, because they were big enough that muchmusic sent a vj to get some footage of him (and us, as we had gotten there early and we were able to get a spot right at the front). incidentally, we were behind this goth dude who stood incredibly still and starred eye to eye at the guy for the whole set. very creepy. anyways, one of the pluses of being right at the front (aside from actually being able to see them play instead of just hearing the music from the back) was seeing how they film those muchmusic news segments. the guy filmed a good 30 minutes, but i bet it’s going to be cut down to not even 30 seconds on tv.
