as you may know i’ve been reading einstein’s the world as i see it…slowly. well i’ve finally finished it as there wasn’t a whole lot to do during the power outage. it mainly consists of his (non-scientific) writings most of which are pretty boring (i don’t find letters of introductions or eulogies a;; that interesting). some of them, especially where he writes his thoughts on america are quite interesting, for example he said this about america’s lack of involvement in the world wars:

“The part of passive spectator is unworthy of this country and is bound in the end to lead to disaster all round.”

well 80 or so years later, it looks like america’s involvment in the world is bound to lead to diaster all around. this power outage thing is like reverse-9/11, i can’t stay up to date on what’s happening cuz i can’t get on the net! but if no one else can get on either i guess no one’s going to write about it till everything’s settled down.
