honda’s created a crash detection system which automatically depresses the brake if you get too close to anything in front of you. it makes your car safer, that is if you don’t mind limiting your freedom of expression. i was thinking how this could be the natural progression towards our reality’s version of those auto-driving cars that you see in minority report. our cars wouldn’t be completely automatous, it would just protect us from collisions; if you tried to change lanes at a stupid time, the car would just automatically veer back into the lane it was in. that way we could still get enjoyment out of speeding driving and be safe at the same time.
