so new jersey won the cup. i like watching the celebrations, but it’s funny how they seemed so surprised that they won after having a 3-0 lead late in the game. it’s like “yay! we didn’t collapse and let them score 3 goals in one minute”. newayz i can see how it’s every canadian kid’s dream to hoist the cup, when scott stevens did it it seemed like he was superman and just lifted 100 tons. that’s one thing that hockey has over every other sports championship, they have a trophy worthy of lifting. after working so hard, i’m sure the players are thrilled to be able to carry the cup above their heads and hear everyone cheer, but it’s kinda dumb to watch them pass the cup around. to each of them it’s special but to everyone else who doesn’t actually get to do it it’s not a whole lot of fun. speaking of superman, i think i may have to goto the comic store and buy a comic for the first time in like 5-6 years. dc comics have a three part series about an alternate universe where baby superman first lands on earth in the ukraine instead of america and becomes an agent of communism. supposedly wonder woman is his gf and batman is a terrorist. neat stuff.
