korea’s known for it’s hardcore gamers and high capita of high speed internet, but it’s also on the forefront of a new type of journalism. it’s not blogging as i would have suspected, but something called citizen reporting — where the masses write the news. when i first heard about it, i thought that it was ironic that korea would fuel a change in conventional and not electronic journalism; but after reading the actual article it doesn’t seem that novel. in fact its description is the same as many, many other news sites on the web — it’s just that this one is more popular and influential to a small group of people (or maybe the fact that there is a paper copy gives it credibility).
