today’s the birthdate of astroboy (sidenote: $13.87 million on a 10cm figurine? did they actually pay to have that done?). there is a slight problem tho, we don’t have the technology to make an astroboy yet! i guess that’s just another example of how technology doesn’t advance quick enough to meet long-term predictions. in a sense this is good, we didn’t have big brother in 1984 nor the HAL 9000; but then we might not have dna computers, food replicators, or starships named enterprise either.

i don’t really like the new gba sp. i don’t think it’s that much of an improvement over the gba in terms of style, when you unfold the thing it looks like you’re playing a gameboy colour with a tilted screen. i like the idea of being compact, but not when it looks like part of a cosmetic kit. the gba design imho looks a lot better; it seems futuristic, kinda like a steering wheel for f-zero or something. i’d rather they sell a normal gba with a rechargeable li-ion battery and backlight, but sadly i don’t run nintendo.

so i wouldn’t get a gba sp (even the name looks odd), that is until i saw one of their new special japanese ones, an orange gameboy advance special edition, whoa. i can even live with the fact that it has a pokemon on the cover.
