the war is thought of by many as an excellent chance for blogs to show how they’re better than normal journalism by providing hands-on accounts of what’s happening. but because there haven’t been many well known blogs about the war (i know of two, one blogger who’s supposedly from iraq and reports on day-to-day activities and one by a cnn journalist who’s been told to suspend his blog for the time being) people have started questioning if blogs actually have any journalistic use.
i think the problem isn’t the lack of war blogs, but where the war is taking place. i don’t think the percentage of iraqis who are on the internet, let alone ones that blog is very high; so without the people, why would you expect there to be blogs?
