if you’re thirsty, would you goto the store and buy some … extreme milk? well dr pepper is betting you will cuz they’re releasing a new drink called raging cow. ok that’s pretty weird, but the reason i blogged about it is because they’re using blogs to advertise raging cow. if you click on the link for raging cow, it takes you to an “in-house blog that tells the fictional story of the drink“.

dr pepper was the first to the market with this idea, so i’m sure it’ll generate a lot of blog-press and achieve the viral marketing that was sought after. i just don’t like the trend it may start. usually blogs are genuine; without ulterior motives. but when stuff like this happens, you can no longer read without thinking that the person might have been paid to write that stuff; kinda like online peer reviews, you don’t know if the reviews were written by people bribed to speak highly of a particular item or not.
