it’s almost as if i planned it, but the first day i showed up at work was the day they were giving out the departmental xmas gifts! not only that, it was the departmental christmas celebration thing (i missed the corporate one which was a formal event at royal york! damn.) so i got to go see tony and tina’s wedding. it was pretty good/funny. they exagerated all the gino stereotypes with some gay characters along for the ride. their portrayals were really funny at first, but eventually it just got a little too played out.
the cool thing about the wedding was that it was interactive; we were part of the show. we started in the pre-wedding reception (?), went to the chapel for the ceremony, then walked to the reception. all thru the show, we were treated as if we were wedding guests. even during the receptions the families would come and talk with us about recent events, family gossip, argue amongst us etc. it was interesting, a new experience.
i was at canada computers getting a new power supply, and i saw these price lists from other computer stores there. so i asked the guy, “uhh why do you have other computer stores’ flyers?” and he was like oh some guy just left them there. so later, along comes this old guy who asks the salesperson if he can have one of those flyers and he’s like uhh yeah. it was hard to keep from laughing at him.
speaking of which, here’s one guy’s essay on why he thinks salespeople, in particular telemarketers are immoral parasites.
