came across an iq test today, the test in itself wasn’t very interesting (i did the 5 minute one) except that it seemed to test your vocabulary and understanding of the english language as opposed to iq. what i did find interesting was the graph which compared iq scores with SAT scores. it seems like a fundamental flaw that both of these tests rely on knowledge of the english language (syntax, vocab, etc) as a measurement. Although the ability to understand english is important, i don’t think that’s a good measure of iq. With this method, you could just “study” for an iq test…the same way that people take courses to prepare them for SATs. on the other hand, i don’t have a problem with studying for SATs since they are more or less like entrance exams. iq tests should measure the innate ability of the person, not the person’s ability to study.

ah j.lo, she’s dumb. that’s why i agree with this article about her. putting aside my bias for a second, i do think that it raises a lot of valid points about celebrities in general…they are all attention-whores (coughx-tinacough).
