The first watch I bought recently after getting more interested in watches is one that I’ve dubbed my TRON watch. The reason is quite evident when you see it – it tells the time by using a series of blue lights.

How it works is that the (blinking, which you can’t see in the picture) white dot is the hour, while the blue and (non-blinking) white dots show the minutes. It takes a bit getting used to, but it’s a bit easier when you’re wearing the watch because it’s oriented in the right way. The watch face is touch sensitive, and the lights are activated when you press the middle. Although the sensitivity is not very high, so you generally need to use your thumb instead of your index finger.

I saw this watch on several online sites before buying this one. Most of the other sites had some logo or type in the middle, but this one is sleek and clean.

I like how the watch is unique on first glance as there is no obvious way to determine the time. It is by no means the only LED watch, but it’s nice that it uses the more trendy blue LEDs (instead of say red or green). I don’t like that the case is thick (problem with many watches from China), but glad that the case is a dark color instead of silver. I also don’t like the faux crocodile (leather) band, but again that comes with most Chinese watches.
