Wow, it’s been almost a week since game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs and I’ve finally gotten around to blogging about it. I failed in my pick, so my overall record this year was 10-5.

This year’s final was pretty bad hockey. There were times when the Canucks and Bruins played spirited hockey, but overall there seemed too much focus on diving, illegal hits, and other unsportsmanlike conduct. You typically remember playoffs by heroic performances, and I can’t say that there were any in this series. Tim Thomas ended up with the Conn Smythe which I agree about, but I don’t think he was heroic (more like Vancouver kept shooting blanks).

Probably what people will remember the most is the riot the occurred after Game 7. The behaviour of the fans were disappointing, and I kind of lump Vancouver with Montreal now (doesn’t help that Maxlaps played for both, both have an overrated goalie that chokes in the clutch, and both have/had European players that disappeared).
