so i saw miib yesterday…it sucked. from the beginning it seemed very cliché and dry. it’s as if they were trying really really hard to make you laugh but fell flat on their face. it got better as it went along tho, i think that they started doing more action stuff and less jokes…but it still was pretty unsatisfying. it seemed more like a parody of mib then a sequel, there was weird 70s space music through a lot of it and the beginning credits reminded me of 007…maybe they’re trying to be like austin powers?? newayz i think that it’s virtually impossible to make a good sequel (empire strikes back and return of the jedi wouldn’t really be called a sequel cuz they were part of the same story arc) unless the original film was crappy but then they wouldn’t have a sequel to begin with. if the film was good and original, then everyone’s expectations would be set too high and generally a sequel wouldn’t be innovative enough to match those expectations…so basically the movie houses are screwed or if you think about it another way the public is screwed.

i read some interesting ideas about minority report yesterday (if you keep reading there are spoilers)…the idea is that everything after when tom cruise is halo’d is a dream…this stems mainly from the idea that the prison guard goes something to the effect that all his dreams will come true and the ending if happy for cruise. also when the wife came to free cruise, she had both his former eyeballs when one of them dropped into the sewer…that makes minority report much more thought provoking but also follows in the trend of phillip k dick movies where the movies are messed up…i never understood total recall (actually i don’t think i saw it in its entirety thru in order) and bladerunner was really weird. they all left me with a lot of questions and unresolved plots but perhaps that was the plan??

i’m also really tired of this scam. i’ve gotten this 3!! times for my old domain from verisign, register.com and some odd company called domain registry of canada. the first time by verisign was at least interesting because i had never gotten anything like this before but seeing as i wasn’t oblivious and knew who i registered my domain with it was pretty obvious that it was fake. i didn’t even open the register.com mailing cuz i had read about the scam on the net…but i checked out the domain registry of canada one…i had never heard of the company before but it seems like their schpeel was the fact that they were canadian (but the net is international so why would it matter!) and charged in canadian dollars ($40/yr!!…40/1.6 = $25USD!!!)…such a waste of their (my) time…
