Well we’re in round 4, the final round – i.e., the Stanley Cup final. This time I predicted the participants correctly so my record this year is 9/14.
I think the Blackhawks will win the cup, even though Marian Hossa is on their team. He has been in the cup final for three years in a row now. He left Atlanta and was traded to the Penguins in 2008, but the Pens didn’t win that year. In 2009 he signed a one year deal with the Detroit Red Wings who proceeded to lose to the Pens. Then in 2010, he signed a long contract with the Blackhawks. Hopefully he won’t be the jinx to a soon-to-be Blackhawks dynasty.
The Flyers also have a perennial cup finals player in Pronger who appeared in 2006 and 2007. But I don’t think that will be enough for them. Beating Montreal wasn’t a challenge, but at least it gave them time to get their injured players back. It’ll be a good series!
