For a short month, February was pretty eventful. In the first week, we looked at some homes like we have been doing for awhile. The difference was that we signed an offer to purchase one this month!
Great, but then the next day, I flew off to Calgary for Chinese New Year and Family day long weekend. At the same time we only had 10 days before the agreement was firm so we had to secure financing and pass the agreement through due diligence. After running around for awhile, we were finally set by the last week of February.
Then the last week of February we tried out a lot of scenarios in order to book some flights for March Break (which is only 2 weeks away), and to plan our vacation. I feel like I just got back from Calgary.
The Olympics were also this month, and kind of overwhelmed all the other news in the month, at least in Canada. Maybe it’s because we were the host country, but this was the first time I saw coverage of people walking around (downtown Vancouver and Whistler)! Or maybe it’s a Canadian thing. We actually watched a lot of TV this month because we can get CTV HD OTA. Well not really watched, but had it on in the background while we typed on our laptops trying to plan vacation. The sad part of all this is that our Xbox was left untouched even though I have a couple of games I want to play.
Finally, February was when winter finally hit. Maybe I brought it back from Calgary, but the week after I got back, there were two snow storms in one week, and we finally had snow accumulation on the ground! I guess we wouldn’t have an entirely snow-free winter.
