Seeing this blog about some Korean street food reminds me of our experience with the same odd amalgamation of potato squares on our trip to Seoul this year. We were wandering around Dongdaemun Market in the evening and were starting to get hungry, so we bought one of these things. It worked out to something like $3 which wasn’t that cheap for a french fries blob but then food was a bit more expensive in Korea than it was in Taiwan. Well we bit into it, and were surprised to taste something squishy in the middle. Before you jump to conclusions and think it was some odd type of seafood, it was just your generic hot dog inside the batter! Whew, less likely to get food poisoning now. And really, its not that odd. it’s like a Korean pogo stick.
