16 days and 4 countries later, we are back at home. I filled up a page of my passport with stamps, although it would have looked more impressive if the Macau customs didn’t decide to stamp on another page.
We kind of did one week of site seeing and one week of family stuff. Looking back, it didn’t feel like we visited that many tourist attractions. In Taiwan, we went to:
- Chiang Kai-shek Memorial
- Danshui
- The Grand Hotel
- Lungshan Temple
- Mao Kong
- Rahoe night market
- Shilin night market
- Taipei 101
- Taiwan Storyland
In Korea, we went to:
- Changdeok-gung
- Changgyeong-gung
- Dongdaemun gate
- Insadong
- Jongmyo Shrine
- Olympic Park
- Panmunjeom
- Tapgol park and the glass pagoda
Then it was off to Hong Kong, where we spent a lot of time doing family things since this was our first time back after getting married. We also spent a lot of time shopping, but did visit:
- Ngong Ping 360
- Tian Tian Buddah and the Po Lin Monastary
- Victoria Peak
That’s not a lot of tourist things, but in fact I found it tough to find tourist places worth going to in HK! Finally we went to Macau, which in itself doesn’t have a lot of tourist attractions except for Casinos. We went to most of the big ones, and also the ruins of St Paul.
