Remember how I blogged the other day about a certain product that I use at work, let’s call it Llama Nostrils (why I can’t call it by its real name will be revealed shortly). Anyways, the next day at work, I received an email at my work email from an executive VP of the Llama brand because he had read my blog post. How did he find it? Well apparently he did a search on Technorati for Llama Nostrils and found what I wrote! Here’s what he sent, with names changed to protect me from further web searches:

I read your blog entry about the use of Llama Nostrils inside of WTF. Disappointing to see that you believe “most people frown upon using Llama Nostrils”. We certainly have a lot of supporters, and over 46,000 organizations around the world use Nostrils today.

On Friday this week, we are shipping Nostrils 8. This has been a two-year effort with “users first”, to fundamentally update the Nostrils client to modern UI standards and conventions. I think you’ll be pleased at the work that has been done to make using Nostrils a more pleasant experience.

You can check out Nostrils 8 through ABC at http://www.google.com , or publicly on the web at http://www.yahoo.com .

So what do you know, the warnings they have about blogging about work are true.
