t seems like I keep getting the outcome of one matchup incorrect, and round 2 was no exception. I predicted that Anaheim, Ottawa, and Buffalo would prevail but missed Detroit. Although to be fair, I think everyone is mystified as to why San Jose collapsed after the giveaway by Nabakov in game 4. So far, my record is 10-2.

I still haven’t seen a Buffalo game, but I’ve watched most of the Ottawa games. Ottawa is playing really well and I consider this series to be the final. I think many people in Toronto are surprised by Ottawa’s success, but to me it’s a no brainer. They have two franchise players on the first line in Spezza and Heatley that play a Canadian style of hockey; they’re no longer a weak, skilled, European team. I’m picking Ottawa to win this series (sorry Keith).

I’m still surprised that Detroit beat San Jose, although I’m leaning towards the idea that it was moreso that San Jose decided to lose to Detroit. Schneider’s out for the remainder of the playoffs so Detroit will be relying even more on Lidstrom and Chelios (he’s 45!). I watched most of the Vancouver/Anaheim series and Anaheim had some lapses where they barely hung on. This series is tough to call but I think Anaheim will pull through.
