I’ve been whimsically trying to take a picture somewhat like this one. It’s a lot harder than it looks, especially when you’re trying to do it by yourself. The first thing I’m trying to do is take a picture of myself with a tripod. It sounds easy, but in order to get the effect of above, the depth of field must be very shallow, and the focus must be very accurate — which is incredibly difficult to do without being in front of the camera.

Once I get that down, I think the tossing and snapshot shouldn’t be that hard, although I expect a lot of trial and error. I don’t think I’m going to use fruit.
