Every few months, I pull out Belle & Sebastian’s The Boy With The Arab Strap and give it a listen. For various reasons really, but mostly because I hear good things about this Scottish indie band, so I have to listen to one of their supposedly better albums and see if I like their music.

Unfortunately for me, I can never get through the album without getting bored of it, I just can’t connect with their music. It is a troublesome battle because I consistently hear hype about them but I don’t understand why.

The most recent exercise was initiated by listening to their latest album, The Life Pursuit. Now this was an excellent album that I dug, so I figured that perhaps my taste in their music had changed. I listened to The Boy With The Arab Strap
