Even though we’re backpacking for our trip, we will be more connected than usual. I’m bringing this guy and this guy. There is supposed to be wifi everywhere in Taipei so hopefully I’ll be able to upload my photos onto my server instead of having them use up space on my SDD and maybe I’ll actually blog during my trip (although I guess they will be more of the “Hi – I’m in xyz place” variety).
For my camera, I decided against bringing my Nikon because it is bulky (lens are long) and I have to bring along the batteries and the chargers. Oh and I have some dust on my sensor which decides to show itself at high f-stops.
Instead, I’m bringing my Pentax because it runs off of AA batteries (and for a long time – like > 500 shots per set) and has image stabilization. The latter is quite necessary because I picked up a kit lens for $50 earlier this month and it’s only in the f/3.5-5.6 range and not my usual constant f/2.8. But the added benefit is that the lens is a bit (but noticeably) shorter than then my Nikon standard zooms.
